PROCEDURES AND POLICIES FOR BALLOON DELIVERY SERVICE
1. Canceling An Order 2. Deliveries to Schools and Hospitals 3. When The Recipient is Absent 4. Balloon Float Times 5. Balloons Bursting
1. Canceling An Order
Cancellations can be accepted up to 3 hours prior to the start of the scheduled delivery slot, provided the cancellation is received by phone during business hours.
To cancel an order scheduled for delivery in the 8am-1pm or 10am-3pm local time slots, please contact our office by closing on the preceeding day.
If you cannot meet these deadlines, please call. We will cancel the order if we can notify the service provider before they have prepared the order.
2. Deliveries to Schools and Hospitals
Many schools and hospitals have restrictions regarding balloon deliveries.
Many hospitals will accept foil balloons but not latex balloons. A few hospitals will accept no balloons. The majority of hospitals will permit patients in Intensive Care to receive foil balloons but not flowers.
Public schools will not permit balloon deliveries to students, but most private schools will.
BalloonPlanet.com obtains permission prior to any delivery to a school or hospital and will contact a customer if permission is denied. For the sake of efficiency, we encourage customers to contact these facilities for approval prior to placing an order. 3. When The Recipient is Absent (Work)
When the recipient is absent from a place of business, we will usually leave the balloons at the site, unless directed otherwise.
For residential deliveries, the situation is usually more complex. Please read on.
4. Residential Deliveries
With residential deliveries, it is essential that a working phone number be provided where we can reach the recipient or another party residing within the residence. It is helpful if a backup phone number is provided using the Customer Comments box in the order form. Cell phone numbers are particularly helpful. We will proceed with a delivery to a residential address only after we have made telephone contact and have confirmed that someone will be at the residence when we arrive. If we are unable to reach the recipient or another party at the residence, we will leave a phone message requesting a call back. The delivery time will be co-ordinated with the recipient once we are able to make contact. If this contact is made too late in the day, it may not be possible to make the delivery during the originally scheduled delivery time.
Exception — If it is noted in the order form that the delivery is to a doorman building, we will proceed to the delivery address without first calling.
5. Contact Phone Numbers
Customrs are encouraged to provide phone numbers where they can be contacted during the scheduled delivery time. This is particularly important for weekend deliveries.
6. Balloon Float Times
Balloons float from 20 hours to 8 days, depending on a several factors. The float time of each bouquet is noted with the bouquet product information, and applies only to indoor use. We make no guarantee of float time when balloons are used outdoors. Please note that float times are stated for sea level and will be reduced at higher elevations.
7. Balloons Bursting
Balloons may burst if exposed to direct sun, sharp objects, or if permitted to float on ceilings. Please take care to avoid these conditions.
